Spread the love

By Cara Beth Lewis

Resolute Home Care is a care-giver service provider for older adults who are in need of assistance with daily services, so that it can delay the need for long-term nursing home care. Since May 2022, Resolute Homecare has served Bladen County. Executive Director Kerry L. Shipman describes this Elizabethtown small business with pride.

Shipman stated: “The mission of Resolute Home Care is to provide a personalized, caring, and respectable healthcare environment that is patient and family-oriented for disease prevention, community-centered health restoration, maintenance, and education that reflect our lifetime commitment to excellence in service, practice, and leadership for the community we serve.”

When asked to describe his role at RHC, Kerry L. Shipman stated, “I am the Executive Director and Owner of Resolute Home Care. As the Executive Director I am responsible for every aspect in how Resolute Home Care performs. I balance the day-to-day operations, the agency culture, financial performance, and patient care outcomes while maintaining a strategic vision for long-term success. I am very hands-on, so I like for clients to know who I am to build that trust and bond.”

All businesses are unique, and at BladenOnline we love to spotlight what exactly makes a business stand out from the rest. We asked the owner and Executive Director of RHC to enlighten us on how his business is different from others. He shared the following:

“First thing, Resolute Home Care is a small, black-owned business. We strive to ensure that we put the client first. We believe in the principle of family is where the home is. When we work with a client, we want them to know and feel that they are a part of a loving and caring family.”

Resolute Home Care enables older adults to remain in their own home instead of being moved into a facility. Shipman explained, “We partner with the Department of Social Services, churches, and community partners in order to assist in finding care for older adults that need help.” He added,  “Without the community, referrals, and word of mouth of community partners we would not be as successful as we want to be. They are definitely appreciated.”

“I have always been a person that observes their environment and then tries to fix what I may see as a need,” Shipman said. He continued, “From once living in Bladen County, I saw there was a need so I wanted to expand my services to home. Older adults will always need quality care and support, and that is what Resolute Home Care will strive to do.”

In the future, RHC has plans to offer mental health services to the residents of Bladen County, in addition to the services currently provided through the small business.

Lastly, Shipman stated:

“As Hebrews 6:10 says, ‘God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.’ At Resolute Home Care, we want to personally thank Bladen Online for highlighting the work that we do. We pray that we continue to help uplift and support the citizens of Bladen County and its surrounding

Communities.”
