A small fire broke out Saturday afternoon on the left side of the sixth fairway in the rough area at Vineyard Golf at White Lake.
The fire was reported by Courtney Brisson of the Vineyard Golf maintenance staff. The White Lake Fire Department responded and the fire was contained within about a 50 yard area of the rough. Players on the course continued play without delay.
Vineyard Golf club manager Amy Bailey said, “We appreciate the professional and quick service the White Lake Fire Department showed in assisting up with this situation. They responded quickly, thus helping us avoid a more serious event.”
