East Bladen pounded out 16 hits and rolled to a 15-3 Four County Conference softball victory at Pender Tuesday night.

Freshman Kaley Smith and sophmore Emily Scott both batted 3-5 to lead the East Bladen hit parade. Smith drove in 2 runs and stole a base, and Scott had one run batted in.

Senior Lexi Dawson knocked in 3 runs with a 2-3 performance at the plate. Senior Abbey Norris also drove in 3 runs with a pair of hits.

Lead-off batter Lacey Suggs batted 2-3, drove in a run and racked up 4 stolen bases. Junior Miller Heustess smacked 2 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 2 runs and stole a base.

Senior Anna Brewer and freshman Faith Johnson connected for one hit each for the winners.

Heustess pitched 6 innings to pick up the victory, allowing 3 hits with no walks and 3 strike-outs. Suggs relieved in the seventh and allowed 2 hits, but struck out the side.

The Lady Eagles jumped in front 5-0 in the top of the first and added single runs in the second and third innings, before breaking the game open with 5 more runs in the sixth.

Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles remained undefeated in the league at 3-0 and are 5-1 overall. East Bladen will host West Columbus today (Wednesday) in a double-header that will begin at 4:30.
