CERRO GORDO – Sophomore Karli Priest pitched a 1-hitter and struck out 10 batters to lead East Bladen to an 18-0 non-conference victory over West Columbus in the opening game of a softball double-header Tuesday.

Sophomore Laura Davisson ignited a 3-run, 1st inning rally by the Lady Eagles with a single to leftfield. Sophomore Emma Turbeville and junior Mariah Smith reached base on errors as Davisson and Turbeville scored. Sophomore AnnaGrey Heustess knocked in Smith with a single to left-centerfield.

Senior Kayleigh Raynor and Davisson scored runs on a trio of Lady Viking errors in the 2nd inning as the East Bladen lead grew to 5-0.

Senior Carlie West and sophomore Maegan Burney drew walks to begin the East 3rd inning. Raynor reached on an error, and Davisson smashed a double that scored West and Burney. Priest walked, and Smith reached base on an error as Raynor, Davisson and Priest scored.

Senior Alyssa Futrell and Heustess drew walks, and West ripped a single to centerfield that drove in Smith. Burney walked to force home Futrell, and Raynor laced a single to center that scored Heustess and stretched the lead to 13-0.

Priest led off the 4th with a single, Smith walked and Futrell and freshman Dyiamon Robinson reached base on errors as Priest, Smith and Futrell scored. Burney and Raynor drew walks, before Turbeville connected for a single that brought home Robinson and pushed the lead to 17-0.

Senior Jordan Kinlaw cracked a single in the 5th inning, Robinson followed with a single and Burney walked. Raynor lined a single to centerfield that scored Kinlaw.

Davisson batted 2-for-5 with a double, 3 runs scored and 2 runs batted in for East. Raynor was also 2-for-5 with a walk, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Turbeville, Priest, Heustess, Kinlaw, West and Robinson contributed one hit each.

Turbeville, Heustess, West and Burney drove in runs. Smith walked twice and scored 3 runs. Futrell walked twice and scored 2 runs. Burney walked 4 times, and Turbeville, Heustess, Kinlaw, West, Robinson and Burney scored runs. Priest walked once and scored twice. West and Heustess also drew walks.

Freshman Kennedy Scott doubled in the 4th inning for the only West Columbus hit.
