LAKE WACCAMAW – A 7-run fourth inning snapped a 1-1 tie and propelled East Columbus to an 11-1 Three Rivers Conference softball victory over East Bladen.

The Lady Eagles grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Freshman Mariah Smith and sophmore Nesiah McKoy drew walks, and senior Olivia Hollingsworth was hit by a pitch. Smith raced home on an error.

Two singles, a sacrifice bunt and a passed ball produced the tying run for the Lady Gators in the home second.

Four hits, 3 walks and 3 errors keyed the 7-run East Columbus fourth inning. A single, a walk and sophmore Alanna Deal’s 2-run triple sparked a 3-run Lady Gator fifth inning. Deal scored the game-ending run on a passed ball.

Sophmore Kayleigh Raynor laced a single to centerfield for the only East Bladen hit. Smith scored the lone Lady Eagle run.

Raynor pitched a complete game and struck out five. Five of the East Columbus runs were unearned.

Sanauwa Campbell batted 3-3 with 2 runs batted in and a run scored to lead the East Columbus hitters. Deal finished 2-3 with a triple, 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored.

Senior Arianna Daniels pitched 4 hitless innings, allowed one run and struck out 7 batters to pick up the win. Deal gave up one hit in a scoreless fifth inning.

East Bladen will host Wallace-Rose Hill in a non-conference double-header Thursday beginning at 4:30.
