West Bladen High School LogoWest Bladen’s Lady Knights travel to Washington tonight to battle the Washington Pam Pack in the opening round of the NCHSAA Class 2-A Softball Play-offs.

Coach Pam Stephens’ Lady Knights won 3 of 4 games last week to lock down third-place in the Four County Conference.

Senior Nicole Wyatt fired a 4-hitter in the 7-2 win over East Bladen to raise her season record to 11-8. Wyatt has a 1.29 Earned Run Average and has struck out 118 batters in 114.1 innings.

Sophomore Laikyn Pait leads the Lady Knight hitters with a .516 batting average. Pait had drove in 27 runs and walloped 4 triples. Senior Morgan Sweeney has posted a .508 batting average, has slugged 2 home runs, scored 39 runs and drove in 20 runs.

Wyatt is batting .457 with a home run and 20 runs batted in. Sophomore Kassidy Anderson follows with a .382 average, 16 runs scored and 19 stolen bases. Sophomore Sophia Singletary is batting .340 with 13 rbi’s.

Coach Doug Whitehead’s Pam Pack tied for second-place in the Eastern Plains Conference with North Johnston. Wilson Beddingfield won the Eastern Plains title.

Washington lost to Greenville Conley, Beddingfield and twice to North Johnston. Senior Haley Hutchins handles the pitching chores for the Pam Pack. Hutchins is 15-4 with a 1.45 ERA and has struck out 167 batters in 116 innings.

Senior Haley Wright tops the Washington hitters with a .459 batting average, 2 home runs and 17 rbi’s. Hutchins has slugged 5 home runs, drove in 18 runs and is batting .447. Senior Catie Dority is batting .429 with 20 runs scored.

Other top hitters for Washington are senior Allison Brantley (.408 average), sophomore Jada Lodge (.404 average and a home run) and junior Chrissy McKissick (.393 average).
