TABOR CITY – Senior Anna Suggs pitched a 4-hitter and struck out ten Monday night to lead South Columbus to an 11-1 Three Rivers Conference softball victory over East Bladen.

The Lady Stallions scored 2 runs in the first, tacked on single runs in the fourth and fifth innings then closed the game out with a 7-run sixth inning.

Sophmore Kayleigh Raynor smacked a 2-out single to centerfield in the East Bladen third inning, stole second base and raced home when senior Erica McKoy hammered a double to right field that trimmed the South lead to 2-1.

Raynor batted 2-3 with the run scored to lead the East Bladen attack. McKoy had the rbi double, and junior Johanna Parker contributed the other Lady Eagle hit.

Senior Tressie McQueen led the Lady Stallion hitters with a perfect 4-4 game at the plate that included 2 doubles, 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Suggs batted a perfect 3-3 with a triple, an rbi and a run scored. Libby Blosser finished 2-3 at the plate with a double, 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored.

Raynor started in the circle and pitched 5 innings for East striking out seven and allowing 6 runs – 4 earned. Sophmore Jordan Kinlaw relieved her in the sixth inning.

East Bladen, now 1-2, will travel to Fairmont Tuesday night.
