ELIZABETHTOWN – Junior Peyton Duncan struck out 10 batters to lead South Columbus to a 12-1 non-conference softball victory over East Bladen Tuesday night.

The first 3 South Columbus batters in the 1st inning drew walks, and Bella Coleman cleaned the bases with a double to give the visitors an early 3-0 lead. Teammate Alexuz Barnes capped a 3-run Lady Stallion 2nd inning with a double.

Doubles by Reah Lee and Alanna Deal keyed a 2-run 3rd inning for South, and the Lady Stallions added a 4th inning run.

Sophomore Laura Davisson reached base to begin the East Bladen 4th inning. Sophomore Emma Turbeville walked, and fielder’s choices by sophomore Karli Priest and junior Mariah Smith brought Davisson around to score the Lady Eagle run.

South added 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning.

Priest reached base twice, Turbeville drew the lone walk, and Davisson reached base and scored to account for the only Lady Eagle baserunners.

East Bladen will host East Columbus Thursday at 6 p.m.
