TABOR CITY – Junior Peyton Duncan pitched a 2-hitter and struck out 7 batters to lead South Columbus to a 5-0 Three Rivers Conference softball victory over East Bladen Tuesday night.

The Lady Stallions pushed across a pair of unearned runs in the 3rd inning. Freshman Olivia Watts led off with a single, sophomore Elizabeth Strickland reached base on an error, and senior Alanna Deal drove in both runners with a 2-out triple.

South Columbus scored their other 3 runs in the 6th inning. Deal slammed a double and raced home on sophomore Alexuz Barnes’ single. Sophomore Bella Coleman slapped a single to right, and Duncan knocked in the final 2 runs with a double.

Sophomores Laura Davisson and Karli Priest smacked singles for East Bladen, and senior Kayleigh Raynor drew 2 walks.

Raynor pitched a complete game for the Lady Eagles and allowed 5 runs – 3 earned – on 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out five batters.

Deal batted 2-3 with a triple, a double, a run scored and 2 runs batted in to lead the South hitters. Barnes finished 2-3 at the plate with a double and a RBI. Duncan swatted the 2-run double.

East Bladen will host Red Springs Thursday at 6 p.m.
