ROWLAND – South Robeson defeated East Bladen 15-5 Friday night in Three Rivers Conference softball action. The game was played at South Robeson due to wet fields at East Bladen.

Kerosone Riveria’s bunt single led to a Lady Mustang run in the first inning.

Junior Abbie Cross and senior Anna Kate White drew walks in the East Bladen second inning, and sophmore Kayleigh Raynor knocked in Cross with a single to tie the game 1-1.

South Robeson scored 4 runs in the second to take a 5-1 lead. In the East Bladen third inning junior Johanna Parker walked and scored to whittle the lead to 5-2.

The Lady Mustangs scored 2 runs in the third and 4 runs in the fourth to boost their lead to 11-2.

The Lady Eagles rallied with three runs in the fifth inning. Parker walked, and junior Adrienne Howell belted a single. Cross laced a single to centerfield to load the bases. After a force-out at home, Raynor ripped a single to centerfield that scored Howell and Cross.

Freshman Mariah Smith raked a single to left. Sophmore Jordan Kinlaw smashed a single to rightfield that scored Raynor and sliced the lead to 11-5.

South Robeson ended the game on the mercy rule with 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Smith and sophmore Alyssa Futrell both batted a perfect 2-2 to lead the Eagle hitters. Raynor racked up 3 runs batted in and a run scored with a 2-3 performance at the plate. Kinlaw batted 2-4 with an rbi, and Howell, Cross and White collected one hit each. Cross scored twice, and Howell and Parker scored one run each.

Raynor pitched a complete game for the Lady Eagles.

East Bladen will host rival West Bladen Tuesday night.
