DUBLIN – Junior Madison Collins pitched a 3-hitter and struck out 6 to lead West Bladen to a 10-0 Four County Conference softball victory over Heide Trask Friday night.

Collins only walked two in her 5 innings of work as she raised her record to 3-0 on the season.

After a slow start the Lady Knights broke through for 4 runs in the third inning. Senior Logan Autry cracked a one-out single, raced to third on a passed ball and darted home on senior Alanna Ludlum’s single.

Ludlum stole second and advanced on a passed ball as senior Laikyn Pait drew a walk. Sophmore Carley Dawson reached base on error by the leftfielder that plated Ludlum and Pait. Sophmore Conner Brisson and Collins belted singles in the inning as Carley Dawson scored to pad the lead to 4-0.

Senior Kassidy Anderson drew a one-out walk in the fourth inning, stole second and dashed to third on Autry’s single. Ludlum launched a sacrifice fly that plated Anderson.

Pait laced a single that brought home Autry, and Carley Dawson delivered a single. Brisson reached base on an error that scored Pait, and freshman Kyla Reed knocked in Dawson with a single that stretched the lead to 8-0.

Autry smacked a 2-out single in the fifth inning, stole second and sprinted home when Ludlum walloped a triple. Pait reached base on an error that plated Ludlum with the run that ended the game on the mercy rule.

Autry batted 3-4 and scored 3 runs to lead the West Bladen hitters. Ludlum drove in 3 runs with a 2-3 day at the plate and scored a run. Pait, Brisson and Collins added one hit each for the Lady Knights.

Pait and Carley Dawson scored 2 runs each, and Anderson scored one run. Pait, Carley Dawson and Reed drove in one run each.

“Their pitcher (junior Brittany Foy) threw the ball well,” said West Bladen Coach Joey Autry. “We started getting to her the second time through the line-up.”

The Lady Knights improve to 6-1 in league play and 11-2 overall. West Bladen will travel to rival East Bladen Tuesday at 6 p.m.
