Senior right hander Nicole Wyatt fired a 2-hitter and struck out 8 to lead West Bladen to a 12-2 Four County Conference softball victory over visiting Union Tuesday night.
Wyatt only issued one walk as she raised her record to 4-1 on the season. Walks played a huge role for West Bladen as the Lady Knights received 15 walks from Union pitching.
Senior Amber Bills slammed a double and batted 2-4 with 2 runs-batted-in to lead the West Bladen hitters. Abby Dawson and Jenna Dove both batted 1-1 and drove in a run for the Lady Knights.
Wyatt, sophmore Laikyn Pait and sophmore Kassidy Anderson added one hit each to the 7-hit West Bladen attack.
The Lady Knights took control with a 5-run first inning and stretched their lead with a run in the second and 4 more in the third to go up 10-2.
Coach Pam Stephens’ Lady Knights are 2-0 in the conference and 4-1 overall. West Bladen will host Wallace-Rose Hill Friday at 6 p.m.
