SoftballSenior Nicole Wyatt pitched a one-hitter and struck out nine batters to lead West Bladen to a 13-0 Four County Conference softball victory at Clinton Tuesday night.

Wyatt also slammed a double to drive in a run in the Lady Knights 4-run, first inning and finished 2-4 at the plate. Senior Morgan Sweeney batted a perfect 3-3 with a triple and scored 4 runs. Sweeney hammered the triple in the fifth inning and scored her final run of the game.

West Bladen scored 4 more runs in the second inning, tacked on 3 more in the third and added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Sophomore Sophia Singletary walloped a 3-run inside-the-park home run into the right field corner in the third inning to push the Lady Knight lead to 11-0. Singletary had earlier singled and finished 2-4 at the plate.

Sophomore Kassidy Anderson cracked 3 hits in 4 at-bats and drove in 3 runs. Sophomore Laikyn Pait batted 2-3, and sophomore Alanna Ludlum knocked in 2 runs with a 1-3 performance at the plate.

Coach Pam Stephens’ Lady Knights improve to 8-5 in league play and are 11-8 overall. West Bladen will host county rival East Bladen Friday at 6 p.m.
