CLINTON – Freshman Carley Dawson batted 4-4 and drove in 4 runs, and junior Kathryn Schultz pitched a 2-hit shutout to lead West Bladen to a 16-0 Four County Conference softball victory at Clinton Friday night.

Schultz struck out four, walked none and hit a batter to pick up her first conference win and raise her overall record to 2-0.

Carly Dawson hammered a triple and 2 doubles, drove in 4 runs and scored three. Junior Logan Autry finished 3-3 at the plate with a run batted in and 3 runs scored. Junior Alanna Ludlum batted 2-3 with 2 rbi’s and a run scored.

Junior Laikyn Pait also turned in a 2-3 game and scored twice. Juniors Sophia Singletary and Kassidy Anderson, sophmores Maegan Brady and Abby Dawson and freshman Conner Brisson all collected one hit each.

Singletary and Brisson drove in one run each. Anderson scored twice, and Brady, Singletary, Brisson and Abby Dawson scored one run each.

Anderson and Autry belted singles to start the West Bladen first inning, and Carly Dawson blasted a triple to drive both of them in. Ludlum launched a sacrifice fly to rightfield that plated Dawson with the third Lady Knight run.

An error and a pair of fielder’s choices put Anderson at first with 2 out in the West second inning. Autry cracked another single, and Carley Dawson smashed a double to drive in Anderson. An error on Ludlum’s grounder brought home Autry and Carley Dawson for a 6-0 Lady Knight lead.

Pait smacked a single to begin the West third inning, stole second base and advanced on a passed ball. After Singletary drew a walk, Brisson’s grounder drove in Pait, and Brisson was safe on an error.

Singletary raced home on a passed ball, Abby Dawson swatted a single, and Anderson’s grounder plated Brisson. Autry connected for her third hit of the game and drove in Abby Dawson.

Carley Dawson walloped another double, and Ludlum, Pait and Singletary laced back-to-back-to-back singles as the Lady Knights scored 8 runs in the inning to stretch their lead to 14-0.

After two were out in the West fourth inning, Brady rapped a single, and Autry walked. Carley Dawson drove in Brady with a single, and Ludlum knocked in Autry with the final Lady Knight run.

The Lady Knights improved to 4-2 in the league and 5-7 overall. West Bladen will host St. Pauls Saturday at 2 p.m. in a non-conference game.
