CLINTON – West Bladen rolled to an early 15-0 lead en route to a 16-3 Four County Conference softball victory over Clinton Monday night.

The Lady Knights exploded for eight runs in the top of the first inning. Senior Kassidy Anderson led off with a single, stole second base and raced to third on a throwing error. Senior Logan Autry’s ground ball plated Anderson, and Autry reached base on an error.

Senior Alanna Ludlum reached base on an error, and Carley Dawson’s fielder’s choice scored Autry. Senior Sophia Singletary belted a single that brought home Ludlum. Junior Abby Dawson, the courtesy runner for Singletary, raced home when sophmore Conner Brisson walloped a triple.

After freshman Kyla Reed walked and stole second base, senior Jenna Dove knocked in both Brisson and Reed with a single. Anderson’s second hit of the inning scored Dove, and Autry delivered a single that plated Anderson.

Dove started the Lady Knight third inning with a single, and Anderson followed with a single. Autry drew a walk, and Ludlum smacked a single that scored Dove. Senior Laikyn Pait’s fielder’s choice forced Anderson at the plate.

Carley Dawson slammed a double that scored Autry and Alise Pait, the courtesy runner for Ludlum. After Laikyn Pait sprinted home on a passed ball, Singletary drove in Carley Dawson with a single.

Brisson belted a single, and courtesy runner Abby Dawson scored on an error. Brisson darted home on a passed ball to give West the 15-0 lead.

Freshman pitcher Hailee Stone drove in 2 runs during Clinton’s 3-run third inning.

Ludlum laced a one-out single in the West Bladen fourth and dashed home when junior Anna Moser hammered a double.

Anderson batted 4-5 with 2 runs scored and a run batted in to lead the Lady Knight hitters. Singletary finished 2-3 at the plate with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored. Brisson batted 2-3 with a triple, an rbi and 2 runs scored.

Dove turned in a 2-4 game with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored. Ludlum batted 2-4 with an rbi and 2 runs scored. Carley Dawson smashed a double, drove in 3 runs and scored one. Autry single, scored twice and drove in a run. Moser walloped the rbi double. Laikyn Pait, Abby Dawson, Alise Pait and Reed scored one run each.

Singletary pitched the first 2 scoreless innings for West Bladen and allowed 2 hits. Junior Madison Collins relieved and worked 3 innings in the circle and allowed 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out four.

Coach Joey Autry’s Lady Knights improved to 11-1 in the Four County and 17-3 overall. West Bladen will host Midway Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a key league game.
