BLADENBORO- Junior Rylee Chadwick pitched a no-hitter and struck out 10 batters to lead West Bladen to a 21-1 Southeastern Athletic Conference softball victory over Red Springs Friday night.

Two West errors produced the lone Red Springs run in the 5th inning, and Chadwick hit a batter in the 3rd inning to account for the only other Lady Red Devil baserunner.

At the plate Chadwick blasted a 3-run home run to highlight a 10-run, 1st-inning for the Lady Knights and finished 2-for-2 at the plate with a run-scoring double, 2 runs scored and totaled 5 RBIs in the game.

Senior Jessalynn Vendrick crushed a 3-run home run to left field in the 3rd inning and batted 2-for-3 with the homer, a double, 4 runs scored and 4 RBIs. Junior Kylie Durden finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, 4 runs scored and 2 RBIs.

Lady Knight junior Kaitlynn Brisson slammed a run-scoring double and scored a run. Junior Madison Taylor singled, drove in 2 runs and scored twice. Junior Mackenzie Singletary belted a single, scored a run and had an RBI.

Sophomore Emmee Ward walked 3 times and scored 3 runs. Sophomore Lena Trinidad was hit by a pitch, scored a run and had an RBI. Sophomore Gracie Faircloth walked and scored a run. Sophomore Megan Pait scored a run and had an RBI. Senior Olivia Allen scored a run.

West Bladen batters drew 9 walks, cracked 9 hits, were hit by pitches 4 times and capitalized on 4 Red Springs errors.

Coach Pam Stephens’ Lady Knights improved to 5-1 in SAC-7 play and 6-8 overall. West Bladen will travel to St. Pauls Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game.
