Senior Nicole Wyatt struck out nine and pitched a no-hitter Monday night as West Bladen’s Lady Knights opened their season with a 21-1 non-conference victory at St. Pauls.
Wyatt allowed an unearned run in the second inning and walked none.
The Lady Knights exploded for 5 runs in the first inning and added 6 more in the second for an 11-0 lead.
Sophomore Alanna Ludlum topped the West Bladen hitters with a single, a double and a triple that drove in four runs. Ludlum hammered a 2-run triple in the second inning and swatted a run-scoring double in the third.
Sophomore Kassidy Anderson slammed a double and finished 2-3 at the plate. Sophomore Laikyn Pait knocked in 2 runs with a 2-3 day that included a double. Pait belted a 2-run single in the first inning, and smashed a double in the third inning.
Wyatt cleared the bases with a 3-run double in the fifth inning. Shortstop Morgan Sweeney batted 2-4 for the winners and drove in a run.
Freshman Anna Moser smacked a 2-run single, and sophomore Jenna Dove was 1-1 at the plate with a run batted in. Amber Bills drove in a run with a single.
Sophomore Logan Autry brought home a run with a sacrifice fly. Sophomore Kathryn Schultz plated a run with a sacrifice bunt.
The Lady Knights travel to Purnell Swett Tuesday for a 5 p.m. game.
