West Bladen exploded for 22 runs in the first 3 innings and rolled to a 24-0 Four County Conference softball victory over visiting Clinton Tuesday night.

Senior shortstop Morgan Sweeney blasted an inside-the-park home run to ignite a 7-run Lady Knight first inning. Sweeney finished 2-4 at the plate with the home run.

Senior Amber Bills smacked 4 hits and drove in 3 runs to lead the West Bladen hitters. Sophomore Laikyn Pait hammered a triple to highlight the Lady Knights 9-run second inning. Pait also smashed a third inning double and batted 3-4 with 4 runs-batted-in.

Winning pitcher Nicole Wyatt drilled a second inning double and finished 2-4 at the plate with an rbi. Sophomore Kassidy Anderson cracked a single and drove in 2 runs.

Sophomores Jenna Dove, Alanna Ludlum, Kathryn Schultz and Sophia Singletary added one single each to the 16-hit West Bladen attack. Dove, Ludlum and Schultz drove in one run each.

Wyatt pitched the first 4 innings for West, striking out 4 and allowing the one hit. Sweeney worked the fifth inning in the circle and struck out 2 of the 3 batters that she faced.

Sophomore Callie Sumner connected for the only Clinton hit.

West Bladen improves to 3-2 in the Four County and 6-5 overall. The Lady Knights will travel to Midway Friday night.
