West Bladen exploded for 9 first-inning runs and pounded out 20 hits en route to a 25-0 Four County Conference victory at Union Tuesday night.

The Lady Knights stretched their lead to 15-0 after 2 innings, 19-0 after three, and 23-0 after 4 innings.

Senior Morgan Sweeney hammered a double and a triple, drove in 4 runs and batted a perfect 4-4 for the winners. Sophomore Laikyn Pait also batted 4-4, drove in 4 runs and slammed a double.

Senior Nicole Wyatt batted a perfect 3-3, and sophomore catcher Alanna Ludlum knocked in 2 runs with a double and a single. Sophomore Sophia Singletary hammered a triple and a single to drive in 3 runs.

Senior Amber Bills belted 2 singles and drove in 3 runs. Sophomore Logan Autry turned in a perfect 2-2 game with a run batted in. Sophomore Jenna Dove singled and drove in a run.

Wyatt pitched the first 3 innings and picked up the win, striking out seven, walking none and allowing one hit. Sweeney pitched 2 innings, struck out 4 and gave up a hit and a walk.

Coach Pam Stephens’ Lady Knights improved to 5-2 in the league and 8-5 overall. West Bladen will travel to Wallace-Rose Hill Thursday night.
