ELIZABETHTOWN – Freshman Tessa Nicholson batted 4-for-4 and drove in eight runs to lead Whiteville to a 10-0 Three Rivers Conference softball victory over East Bladen Thursday night.

Nicholson walloped a three-run triple in Whiteville’s four-run second-inning, cracked a run-scoring double during a four-run fourth inning rally and belted a two-run single in the fifth inning.

Junior Elizabeth Wyatt batted 3-for-3 with a double, and freshman Emma Hooks slammed two doubles. Freshman Marissa Ivey finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, and Carmen Hilbourn was 2-for-4 with a double.

Sophomore Kayleigh Raynor finished with a perfect 3-for-3 night at the plate to lead the Lady Eagles. Junior Lorna Mendell and freshman Mariah Smith connected for one hit each.

Raynor pitched the first four innings for East Bladen, and sophomore Jordan Kinlaw relieved in the fifth inning.

East Bladen, now 7-9 in league play, will finish the regular season at rival West Bladen on Saturday at 4 p.m.
