The Southeastern Carolina Crossroads fundraiser held in Bladenboro on Saturday was deemed a success by organizers. Volunteers prepared 1,065 pounds of barbecue pork for the event.
“We want to thank everyone who came out and supported this event,” said Rev. Larry Hayes, one of the organizers.
Rev. Charles Hester, with the Bladen Baptist Association, said of the event, “This means they will be able to provide help to fellows who cannot pay the entrance fees.”
He added they do not turn anyone away, regardless of their ability to pay.
Rev. Hester said the fundraiser on Saturday was the second phase of an endeavor that started with an auction held last week.
“This will complete the (fundraising) drive for this year,” said Rev. Hester.
If you were not able to attend either event, it is not too late to make a contribution. Rev. Hester said monetary donations can be mailed to the Bladen Baptist Association, P. O. Box 62, Elizabethtown, NC 28337 and note on the check it is for Southeastern Carolina Crossroads.
