The Southeastern District NCSSAR in co-operation with the Lumber River Chapter NCSSAR and the Battle of Elizabethtown Chapter NCSDAR invites you to attend a grave marking ceremony for General Thomas Brown, an important Patriot military and political leader who led forces in The Battle of Moores Creek Bridge and in the Battle of Elizabethtown. Brown also served as a member of the Provincial Congress that met in Halifax, N.C. in November 1776 and participated in the formation of the North Carolina Constitution.
The ceremony will be held inside of Carvers Creek United Methodist Church at 10am on Saturday, November 21, 2015. The church is located off of the main Highway 87 between Elizabethtown, N.C and Riegelwood, N.C. The address is:
