A record crown of 81 golfers showed up on a beautiful summer day Tuesday, August 1, to play in the SFSGA tourney at Land O’ Lakes Golf Course near Whiteville. The tourney this week used the Stableford System with two-man teams.

There were four flights and the winners were:
First Flight..60.. Rob Conway-Kenny Stanley. Second Flight..41..Jeff Smith-Butchie Martin. Third Flight..36..Oliver Carter-Kenneth Packer. Fourth Flight..33..Larry Suggs-Al Phillips.

There was a hole-in-one by Bradley Butler of Bladenboro. He aced the 122 yard 14th hole with a nine iron.

Next week’s tourney will be held at Gates Four Country Club.
