The Tar Heel boys and Bladenboro girls won the Bladen County Middle School basketball tournament championships Thursday at Tar Heel School.
The Tar Heel boys outscored Bladenboro 52-47 to successfully defend their tournament title.
The Bladenboro girls upended defending champion Elizabethtown 29-26.
• Softball: East Columbus 10, West Bladen 0 — In Bladenboro, Ashlynn Smith and Leigh Reaves combined on a 3-hit shutout for the Gators (4-1). West Bladen is 0-3.
