Brady Durden pitched a one-hit shutout Friday night and West Bladen scored its runs in the final two innings en route to a 5-0 win against county rival East Bladen at Russell Priest.
Durden, a right-hander, struck out six, walked two and allowed only a single by East Bladen’s Isaiah Lee in the fourth inning.
Davion Lewis, East Bladen’s starting pitcher, matched Durden through five innings, yielding a pair of singles through five innings, but a pair of errors led to two West Bladen runs in the sixth and broke the scoreless tie.
Lewis pitched six innings, allowed four hits, a pair of unearned runs, struck out four, walked one and hit two batters.
The Knights (4-0) opened the seventh with a double by Durden, run-producing single by Garrett Dunham and a walk to Ashton Davis. Cade Allen followed with a sacrifice fly and Allister Russ drove home the final run with a ground out.
East Bladen (1-3) had only two runners reach as far as second base.
• JV Baseball: West Bladen 13, East Bladen 2 — Chase Bryan, Brady Marlowe, Cole Brisson and Aiden Thompson each had two hits for Knights, who broke open the game with seven runs in the fifth inning.
Corben Chadwick pitched 4 2/3 innings to notch the win, striking out seven and allowing four hits. Noah German drove home two runs for West Bladen.
Chandler Wall had a two-run single in the fifth inning for East Bladen.
