Mary Caitlin Campbell Seventh in USA Powerlifting Nationals

LOMBARD, IL – Mary Caitlin Campbell placed 7th in the USA Powerlifting Raw Nationals Women’s Open 72 kg weight class Saturday and recorded personal bests in all 3 powerlifting disciplines.

Campbell (pictured in a file photo) totaled 457.5 kg (1,006.5 pounds) for the 3 disciplines to finish only 5 kg out of fourth-place and improved her personal bests by 2.5 kg in both the squat and bench and by 5 kg in the deadlift. READ MORE

West Bladen High School LogoBLADENBORO – Senior quarterback Tyre Boykin ran for 356 yards and 5 touchdowns Friday night to lead West Bladen’s Knights to a 36-33 Three Rivers Conference football victory over West Columbus.

Boykin carried the ball 26 times, scored a pair of 2-point conversions and completed 1 of his 2 pass attempts for 6 yards. He figured statistically in 28 of the Knights 36 plays from scrimmage. READ MORE

East Bladen High SchoolST. PAULS – East Bladen’s RaSean McKoy rushed for 216 yards Friday night, but a couple of second-half scoring threats were lost as the Eagles dropped a 34-28 Three Rivers Conference football decision to St. Pauls.

NCHSAA Class 2A Tennis Playoffs: First Flight 6, West Bladen 0

BLADENBORO – First Flight defeated West Bladen 6-0 on Thursday in the opening round of the NCHSAA Class 2A Dual Team Girls Tennis Playoffs.

The Lady Knights finished their team season with an 11-3 overall mark. Alyssa Smith, Alyssa Bell, Autumn Brisson, Marley Fletcher and Courtney Hester have all qualified for the MidEast Regionals – Smith in singles; the other four in doubles. READ MORE

Cross Country: George, Rhoda Post Top Ten Finishes

West Bladen High School LogoLUMBERTON – West Bladen’s Haley George and Tinyauh Rhoda posted top ten finishes Tuesday in the Three Rivers Conference girls cross country race at Luther Britt Park.

George completed the race in 5th place with a time of 26 minutes, 51 seconds. Rhoda took 8th place with a time of 27 minutes, 44 seconds. READ MORE

EVERGREEN – Bladenboro won a pair of Waccmaw Middle School Conference volleyball matches Thursday over West Columbus and Elizabethtown.

Middle School Volleyball: Clarkton School of Discovery Wins Twice

Clarkton School of DiscoveryCLARKTON – Clarkton School of Discovery swept a pair of Waccmaw Middlle School Conference volleyball matches Thursday over Hallsboro and Acme-Delco.
