West Bladen dominated play during the Southeastern Athletic 2A Conference boys’ basketball season. Fittingly, the Knights dominated the league’s postseason awards.

Northwood Beats West Bladen For Boys’ 2A East Basketball Title

WINSTON-SALEM – Northwood closed the 3rd period with an 11-2 run that snapped a 27-27 tie enroute to a 57-38 victory over West Bladen Thursday in the NCHSAA Class 2A Eastern Championship Game.
Coach Travis Pait’s Knights concluded their season with a 27-2 record, while Northwood (30-2) advances to Saturday’s title game against Reidsville (30-0) who defeated Bandys 79-50 in the western title game. READ MORE
East Bladen Girls Win 1A East Basketball Championship
WINSTON-SALEM — NeNe Ward scored 30 points, connecting on six 3-point field goals, and Lalia Smith had 27 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday afternoon as seventh-seeded East Bladen defeated top-seeded Perquimans 77-63 for the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1A East championship.
East Bladen (26-3) will seek its first state title Friday against defending state champion Cherokee (27-2) at 3:35 p.m. inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. READ MORE
NCHSAA Realignment: East Bladen, West Bladen Remain In Separate Conferences
East Bladen and West Bladen will remain in separate conferences under the final realignment plan released Thursday by the N.C. High School Athletic Association.
Realignment, which expands classifications from four to eight, will begin with the 2025-26 school year and be in effect for four seasons. READ MORE
