Grey Team Wins 7-9 Coed Youth League Championship
Coach Walter Powell’s Grey team won Bladen Recreation’s 7-9 Coed Youth Basketball League championship with a perfect 10-0 record.
Green Team Is 7-9 Coed League Runner-up
Coach Wilson Bolden’s Green team finished second in Bladen Recreation’s 7-9 Coed Youth Basketball League with a 5-4-1 record.

BLADENBORO – Senior Greyson Heustess banked in a 9-foot runner with one second remaining to lift East Bladen to a 57-56 Three Rivers Conference men’s basketball victory over West Bladen Friday night.
West Bladen junior Tyre Boykin sank a free throw with 7.8 seconds left to give the Knights a 56-55 lead. Heustess then raced down the floor for the winning shot. READ MORE

BLADENBORO – East Bladen raced to a 34-10 first-half lead en route to a 61-21 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball victory over an injury-riddled West Bladen team.
The victory completed a perfect 18-0 regular season for Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles who claimed another conference championship by a five-game margin. READ MORE

BLADENBORO – Sophomore Jacob Priest sank 3 free throws with 1.9 seconds left that gave East Bladen a 35-33 Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over West Bladen Friday night.
A Priest lay-up that resulted in a 3-point play pushed the Eagles ahead 32-31 with 1:30 remaining, but Jadacus Register made 2 of 4 free throws to put West on top 33-32 at the 30-second mark. READ MORE

ELIZABETHTOWN – Guard Malcolm Bolden fired in 18 points Thursday night as Elizabethtown’s Cougars handed Whiteville Central their first loss of the season 48-37 in Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys basketball action.

RICHMOND, VA – UNC-Wilmington guard Lacey Suggs has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Lady Seahawks to victories over Elon and William & Mary.
