SPOKANE, WA – Bladen County’s Mary Caitlin Campbell finished sixteenth in the Women’s 3-Lift Open event for the 72kg (154 pound) Class Saturday in the USA Powerlifting Raw Nationals at the Hotel RL.
Campbell who won the USA Powerlifting North Carolina State 72kg Raw Open back in June posted personal bests Saturday in the squat and dead-lift. READ MORE

CERRO GORDO – Senior quarterback Shawn Tyson ran for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns Friday night to lead West Columbus to a 38-24 Three Rivers Conference victory over a short-handed West Bladen team.
The Knights lost star quarterback Tyre Boykin on the third play of the second quarter when he was flagged for a pair of unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and disqualified from the game. READ MORE

LAKE WACCAMAW- Senior Greyson Heustess lit up the scoreboard with a ‘Hat Trick’ plus one of 4 goals to lead East Bladen to an 8-0 Three Rivers Conference men’s soccer victory Wednesday over East Columbus.
Junior Gabe Barber fired in 2 goals for the Eagles, and senior Pierce Melvin and junior Ebrahim Algozy scored one goal each to for the winners. READ MORE

BLADENBORO- Sophmore Keni Verdugo Gomez fired in a first-half goal, and the West Bladen defense made it stand up for a 1-0 Three Rivers Conference victory Wednesday night over Red Springs.

BLADENBORO – South Columbus won the final two sets and defeated West Bladen 3-1 Wednesday night in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-20, 22-25, 25-16 and 25-13.
The teams played in honor of West Bladen junior Nathan Nance who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. Tshirts are currently being sold at West Bladen and a silent action was held during Wednesday games. READ MORE

BLADENBORO – South Columbus won the final two sets and defeated West Bladen 2-1 Wednesday night in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action by set scores of 25-21, 24-26 and 15-9.
Freshman Hannah Pait blasted in 11 kills and 4 service points to lead the Lady Knights. Sophmore Alyssa Suggs drilled in 4 aces, 5 service points, a kill and had 2 digs. READ MORE
Middle School Girls Soccer: Clarkton School of Discovery 8, Hallsboro 0
ELIZABETHTOWN- Sophia Masaid racked up a “Hat Trick’ plus two of five goals Wednesday to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to an 8-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls soccer victory over Hallsboro at County Park.
In the fourth minute of play, Masaid opened the scoring with an unassisted goal. Three minutes later Masaid turned an assist from Maegan Burney into her second goal for a 2-0 Lady Blue Devil lead. READ MORE

ELIZABETHTOWN- Whiteville defeated Bladenboro 6-1 Wednesday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls soccer action at County Park.
Rylee Chadwick fired in an early goal for the Lady Bulldogs. Bladenboro is now 3-3 on the season.

CERRO GORDO – West Columbus rallied from a 12-6 first-half deficit to edge Elizabethtown 20-18 Tuesday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference football action.
SFSGA Tournament Played At Gates Four
The October 9 Southeastern Fellowship Senior Golf Association tournament was played at Gates Four near Fayetteville.
Fifty-one players participated and two teams tied for first place with scores of 53. Next week’s tournament will be held at Pinecrest Country Club in Lumberton. READ MORE

BLADENBORO – West Bladen’s Lady Knights finished off a perfect 16-0 regular season Monday with a 9-0 victory over East Bladen in Three Rivers Conference women’s tennis action.
