The annual Bladenboro Spring Fling by Boost the Boro was held Saturday, June 10th, at the Bladenboro Farmer’s Market. Vendors, food, and live entertainment was the main focus of the event to help the local non-profit, Boost the Boro, Inc., raise funds to help promote economic development for the town.

Before the official event began; farmers offered fresh produce at the market while Boost the Boro members and vendors set up for the big event. At 11 a.m. the fun day started with all the promised excitement. Barbecue chicken plates were available for sale along with other food. About 20 vendors offered a large variety of items.

Live entertainment was provided by different performers. Classic rock music performed by The Oak Run Band was the main entertainment attraction. Brenda Watson won the 50/50 raffle valued at almost $2,000 in gifts and prizes.

Penny Walters, the event chair said, “I thought it was a pretty good turn out.” The total amount raised was about $2,200, according to Walters.
