Clinton, NC – The air was filled with excitement as Star Communications (STAR) celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for its new corporate headquarters building. This event marks a significant milestone that will not only enhance the heart of Clinton but also serve the interests of its members and customers.

On November 1, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., Star Communications welcomed community members to join us at 1322 Sunset Ave, Clinton, NC 28328, for this special occasion. It was a moment to celebrate the commencement of construction for our new corporate headquarters, a future hub for STAR.

Distinguished speakers at the event included Board President Thurman Smith and CEO Donna Bullard, who both shared their inspiring vision for the future of our community and the positive impact the new building will bring.

Board President Thurman Smith expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This building is an opportunity for STAR to reestablish connections with all our employees and provide a space where customers and the community can engage and interact. We’re thrilled to take this step forward and create a place that will enrich our community for generations to come.”

The new headquarters will not only be a symbol of progress but also a hub of innovation. It will house cutting-edge technology displays, versatile multipurpose rooms for education and training, and facilities designed for a range of learning, events, and activities. Additionally, it will be designed with environmental sustainability in mind, aiming for LEED certification as an embodiment of our commitment to a greener future.

Donna Bullard, CEO at STAR, reflected on the journey that led to this significant development. She mentioned, “STAR’s previous corporate headquarters, located at 3900 N. US 421 Hwy, faced flooding during two devastating hurricanes, Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and Hurricane Florence in 2018. Since then, STAR has operated without a centralized headquarters facility. We are thankful to embark on this momentous journey, celebrating progress and looking forward to the positive impact this new building will have on our community. Together, we’ll build a brighter future.”

Star Communications, the leading communications company in the region, was established in 1959 as Star Telephone Membership Corporation.
