RALEIGH, N.C. – The State Board of Elections will host a press conference at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 17, to launch a voter confidence campaign to inform voters about the many ways North Carolina protects elections and ensures the accuracy of the results.

State Board Executive Director Karen Brinson Bell will unveil the state’s new voter confidence hashtag, which will be used throughout the campaign. The campaign will run through the 2020 elections and will involve regular social media posts, a dedicated web page, news releases, appearances at events and other activities.

Staff from the State and County Boards of Elections will be joined at the press conference by partners from state and federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the N.C. Department of Information Technology and the N.C. Department of Public Safety, which work closely with elections officials to secure our elections.

“While there are many threats out there, the voters of North Carolina can rest assured that we are safeguarding elections in our state,” said Karen Brinson Bell, executive director of the State Board of Elections. “Our voter confidence campaign is designed to let voters know what steps we’re taking – before, during and after each election – on this important front.”
