Lisa Dawson, with the State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) in Elizabethtown, has announced a community initiative to collect new or gently used blankets for victims of recent hurricanes in Western North Carolina. The blanket drive is part of SECU’s ongoing commitment to supporting disaster recovery efforts and assisting communities in need.

The drive is currently underway and will run through December 22, 2024. Donations can be dropped off at the SECU branch located at 59 Members Circle Road, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.

“This is a simple yet impactful way for our community to come together and provide comfort and warmth to those who have been affected by these devastating storms,” said Dawson.

The collected blankets will be distributed to families and individuals impacted by the hurricanes, many of whom are still recovering and facing cold weather challenges during the holiday season.

Community members are encouraged to participate and spread the word to make this drive a success. For more information, visit the SECU branch or contact Lisa Dawson directly.

Let’s join hands to bring warmth and relief to those in need this holiday season!
