Raleigh – Following counting updates the race for Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, NCDP Chair Wayne Goodwin released the following statement:
“With more than 2,000 wrongfully rejected absentee and provisional ballots yet to be included in the final tally, and with a statewide recount still pending, the race for Chief Justice is far from over. We will continue working to ensure that every vote is counted and fighting back against efforts to try to invalidate any North Carolinians’ ballot.
“Chief Justice Beasley has been a tireless advocate for equal justice for all North Carolinians, and we are confident that when this process has concluded and every voice is heard, she will continue that important work from the state Supreme Court.”
