The search for a Fayetteville man who was reported missing on Saturday at Singletary Lake State Park in Bladen County is now entering its seventh day.

Katie Hall, with the NC State Parks, said on Friday morning there is still no sign of Jesse Sgro, 23.

Hall said, “Today we have State Parks resources—staff and search boats on the water and along the shoreline. Local fire departments are on site and one K-9 unit is on site.”

Sgro was visiting Singletary Lake State Park with his church group. He was last seen in a canoe on the lake on Friday evening. When he did not return to the camp, members of the group searched the lake shore at 3 am, according to Hall.

On Saturday, the group was preparing to leave when the realized he still had not returned and they began to search lake again and reported Sgro missing to park staff at 10 am on Saturday

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Sgro are asked to call the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office at 910-862-6960.
