Thanksgiving has now become a time of shopping instead of a time of feasting for some. Most local merchants will be closed or operate on a limited schedule on Thanksgiving, but the Elizabethtown Walmart has extended hours.

One Walmart representative said the store will open at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day and will be open around the clock until midnight Saturday. The store does have special offers saving shoppers money during the extended hours.

Black Friday and Shop Local offers will be available in Elizabethtown. Local merchants like Fisher’s Mens Shop, Leinwand’s, and The Ladies Shop all will have extended hours for the holiday weekend.

Mike Suggs announced his stores will be open 9 am until 6 pm Monday through Saturday and on Sundays from 12 noon until 5 pm offering big savings. Leinwand’s has a storewide sale and Ray’s Furniture & Jewelry has a sale on jewelry.
