The Substance Abuse Task Force released the Marijuana Facts vs. Myths Information Sheets to help educate the community about the illegal substance.

Dr. Cathy Gantz, Program Coordinator of the Substance Abuse Task Force and Bladen County Commissioner Charles Ray Peterson released some announcements in reference to the task force.

The task force formerly known as the Opioid Task force will now be known as the Bladen County Substance Abuse Task Force. Anyone interested in participating with the task force is invited to attend the meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month at 2:00 pm. The meetings are held at the Bladen County Health Department. Syd Wiford, the Principal Consultant of Addiction, Consulting, and Training Associates, LLC, presented a summary of the Bladen County Substance Abuse Task Force Strategic Plan at the January meeting.

Commissioner Peterson said he hopes the task force members can get started on the new plan at the February meeting.

Bladen County does not have an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in the County.

“We are interested in having a weekly meeting and are looking for individuals who are members of Alcoholics Anonymous who would help get a weekly meeting started in Elizabethtown,” Dr. Gantz said in an earlier statement. Space for the meetings has already been acquired for the meeting and day and time are flexible. If you are interested in helping establish an AA meeting in Elizabethtown, please contact Cathy Gantz, Program Coordinator of the Substance Abuse Task Force at cgantz@bladenco.org or 910-872-6256.

Below are the two fact sheets Dr. Gantz released in referenced to Marijuana Facts vs. Myths, according to https://pttcnetwork.org.
