Former East Bladen basketball standout Lacey Suggs scored eight points in 18 minutes off the bench Wednesday afternoon in UNC Wilmington’s 86-60 loss against the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill.

Suggs, a sophomore from White Lake, was 3-for-5 from the field and 2-for-3 from the free throw line. She also had three rebounds and a steal. Suggs had a three-point play late in the fourth quarter, driving in the lane for a layup and converting the free throw.

UNCW is 2-2 and will host Catawba at 4 p.m. Friday.
