Mental Health Services and Substance Misuse Services are Available in Bladen County

Mental health is a growing concern. According to North Carolina’s Child Fatality Task Force (CFTF), from 2019 to 2020, youth suicides in the state increased significantly. According to the December task force report, youth suicides went up more than 50% in a year.

The Bladen County Health Department officials also reported a substantial increase in the need for foster care. According to one report given to Bladen County’s Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC), children needing foster care have increased almost 100% over last year.

These issues point to the need for mental health services.

According to the Bladen County Commissioners, Trillium Health Resources is serving area residents who need assistance with mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance misuse, and traumatic brain injuries.

Trillium serves members through its Provider Network, local agencies, and practitioners based in the community. More information can be viewed through their online Provider Directory or by calling the Member and Recipient Service Line at 1-877-685-2415.

Trillium reminds anyone feeling overwhelmed to seek out help. The National Suicide Prevention Hotline is available 24/7 at (1-800)-273-8255.
