A rainy and gloomy Sunday morning gave way to a sunny afternoon in time for the annual Elizabethtown Christmas Parade.

Former East Bladen High School football players Larrell and Farrell Murchison served as grand marshals. Larrell played at N.C. State and Farrell played at Winston-Salem State this past season.
Of course, the highlight of the parade was the official arrival of Santa Claus. President of the Chamber of Commerce Jennifer Leggett said she was pleased with the turnout.
Stores in downtown Elizabethtown were open Sunday afternoon so folks could begin their Christmas shopping.
