Sunday crash sends two teens to hospital

Car CrashA single-vehicle accident on Pone Loop Road on Sunday evening sent two teens to the hospital, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Quinn Johnson, 16, of Fayetteville was operating a blue Mercury south on Pone Loop Road when he lost control of the vehicle in a slight curve and the vehicle struck a tree stump on the right shoulder,  said NC Highway Patrol Trooper Sellers. Johnson was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Trooper Sellers said that Johnson was charged with no operator’s license, a seat belt violation and exceeding a safe speed.

There were three other teens riding in the vehicle, according to Trooper Sellers. According to the Highway Patrol, Jamaurie Moore, 16, was airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington for treatment of his injuries.  A 15-year-old juvenile and a fourth teen, whose identity was not immediately available, did not suffer serious injuries.
