Some Leadership Bladen class participants, along which some concerned citizens recently got together to try and educate their community on the Sales and Use Tax Referendum. Due to the frequency of school shootings around the nation both Democrats and Republicans are coming together on this issue around Bladen County to seek resolution with additional protection for our children. The most effective solution is to Vote FOR the Sales and Use Tax Referendum! Counties all over NC utilize this same type of sales tax to help subsidize funding for important issues there is no money in the budget for. The idea is of captivating a fee from tourist and visitors to our county that equates to a quarter of one cent and does not apply to prescriptions, gas, utilities or perishable groceries. These funds will be used exclusively for Public School Resource Officers and Safety enhancements for our schools. Support the Safety of our Schools on November 8th by Voting FOR the Sales and Use Tax Referendum.
