Members of the Bladen County 10-and-Under Softball All-Stars are: Bella Robinson, Brenna Hester, Gracey Clark, Kali Allen, Aubrei Nixon, Leea Wilkins, Niyah Wooten, Tatum Allen, Jenna Brice, Taylor Dowless, Greer Pope, Karlee Gause and Addison Wilcox. Coaches are Alex Barbour, Jamie Brice, and David Allen.
HOLLY SPRINGS – Jenna Brice pitched a two-hitter and struck out 13 batters to lead Bladen County to an 11-1 victory over Williamston on Friday in the StateWide Activities Committee 10-and-Under Softball Sectional Tournament.
Brice walked one and gave up a second-inning run.
Bladen County jumped in front with five first-inning runs. Brenna Hester and Kali Allen belted hits in the inning and scored runs. Tatum Allen, Leea Wilkins and Brice all drew walks and scored in the inning. Bella Robinson, Aubrei Nixon and Niyah Wooten also walked in the inning and Addison Wilcox reached base on an error.
Wilkins smashed a single to center field and scored to push the Bladen lead to 6-1 in the second inning.
The Bladen team opened the third inning with consecutive hits by Robinson, Wilcox, Nixon and Wooten. Robinson, Wilcox and Wooten all scored as the lead grew to 9-1.
Wilkins reached base on an error in center field and scored to push the lead to 10-1 in the fourth inning. Kali Allen, Robinson and Nixon drew walks in the inning.
Taylor Dowless connected for a single in the fifth inning, and Tatum Allen and Hester reached base on errors. Wilkins walked, and Dowless scored the game-ending run.
Hester, Wilkins, Kali Allen, Robinson, Wilcox, Nixon, Wooten and Dowless cracked one hit each for Bladen County. Wilkins scored three runs, and Tatum Allen, Hester, Brice, Kali Allen, Robinson, Wilcox, Wooten and Dowless scored one run each.
