WILLIAMSTON – The Bladen County All-Stars rolled to a 23-5 victory over Holly Springs Saturday in the State-Wide Activities Committee (SWAC) 12U Softball State Tournament.

Bladen County took charge early with an 8-run first inning. Rylee Chadwick ripped a single, and Savannah Turbeville walked. Karli Priest drove in Chadwick with a single, and Alexus Mitchell and AnnaGrey Heustess beat out bunt singles that scored Savannah Turbeville and Priest.

Mackenzie Singletary reached base on an error as Mitchell scored. Lainey Autry laid down a bunt single that plated Heustess. Chadwick delivered a 2-run single that plated Singletary and Autry. Chadwick dashed home on a passed ball.

A ten-run Bladen second inning stretched the lead to 18-0. Mitchell beat out another bunt single, and Emma Turbeville walked. Lainey Hughes reached base on an error as Mitchell darted home. Maegan Burney laced a single to centerfield that scored Emma Turbeville.

Chadwick cracked a single that scored Hughes, and Savannah Turbeville knocked in Burney and Chadwick with a single. Priest smacked a single to left-centerfield that scored Savannah Turbeville.

Zoe Smith, Emma Turbeville and AnnaGrey Heustess drew consecutive walks that forced home Priest. An error on Hughes’ grounder scored Smith, and Maddie Taylor reached base on an error that plated Emma Turbeville and Heustess.

Holly Springs scored 5 runs in the second inning, but Bladen County answered with 5 runs in the third. Chadwick hammered a double, and Savannah Turbeville drove in Chadwick with a single. Priest was hit by a pitch, and Smith walked.

Emma Turbeville and Heustess reached base on fielder’s choices as Priest scored. Hughes reached base on an error that plated Smith. Taylor and Burney both walked to force home Emma Turbeville and Heustess.

Chadwick batted a perfect 4-4 with a double. Savannah Turbeville and Mitchell both batted a perfect 2-2. Priest finished 2-3 at the plate, and Heustess, Autry and Burney added one hit each.

Chadwick pitched a perfect first inning with one strike-out. Taylor took over in the circle in the second inning and gave up 5 runs on 3 walks, 3 hit batters and a hit. Priest pitched a perfect third inning with 2 strike-outs.
