The rain hasn’t stopped folks for joining the fun and fundraising for a good cause. The Tar Heel Fire Department is holding their annual Fall Festival Fundraiser Saturday.

The fun started at 6 pm and will last until 9 pm. The department has put together a full line up of fun this Saturday evening for people to enjoy.

Games, cake walks, concessions including hot dogs, sausage dogs, pop corn, funnel cake, sweets, popcorn, and a reason to dress up one more time this fall season like it’s Halloween are all things the community can find Saturday at the department.

Firefighter Patricia Sakel offers a smile and a bag for the children at the door, while other Firefighters man the games, food and cake walks.

According to Chief David Hunsinger and Assistant Chief Gary Barnes this is the sixth year the fire department has hosted the event and every year it is a great success making it their biggest fundraiser every year.

There is still time to make the festivities and support one of our local fire departments.
