Teachers are appreciated every day, but this week we celebrate all they do for our community with Teacher Appreciation Week. Bladen County Schools showed their appreciation for all County School Teachers, yesterday at a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. The Teacher of the Year Award Winners along with the Principle of the Year were announced at the luncheon.

The 2015 Bladen County Teacher of the Year is Jennifer Hair from East Bladen High School and the 2015 Bladen County Principal of the Year is Kimbrie Esters, from Tar Heel Middle School according Ms. Valerie Newton, with Bladen County Schools.

Individual school’s Teacher of the Year Awards were also given out at the luncheon. The recipients of the awards are as follows:

Booker T. Washington’s Teacher of the Year Award went to Ms. Kathryn King.

Bladenboro Middle School Teacher of the Year is Ms. Angela Campbell.

Bladenboro Primary’s, Ms. Tracy Miller received the Teacher of the Year Award.

Bladen Lakes Primary Teacher of the Year Award recipient is Ms. Lisa Park.

Clarkton School of Discovery’s Teacher of the Year is Ms. Sherry Hays.

Dublin Primary Teacher of the Year Award Winner is Ms. Jamie Hucks Smith

East Arcadia’s Teacher of the Year is Christina Jacobs.

East Bladen High School Teacher of the Year Award went to Ms. Jennifer Hair.

Elizabethtown Middle School’s Ms. Paige Priest won the Teacher of the Year Award.

Elizabethtown Primary Teacher of the Year is Ms. Sandra Britt.

Plainview Elementary School’s Ms. Sandra Hopkins was awarded the Teacher of the Year Award.

Tar Heel Middle School’s Teacher of the Year is Ms. Mary Ann Pait.

West Bladen High School Teacher of the Year is Ms. Amber Young

Congratulations to all the winners. Thank you to all the teachers in our community for motivating, inspiring and educating our children.
