Public Meeting

Public MeetingThe Mother County Genealogical Society will meet on Saturday August 11th from noon until 2 pm in the Bladenboro Historical Society Building at 818 South Main St in Bladenboro.   All are welcome to attend.   Albert Shaw will speak on his Shaw family history in Bladen County.   Pitch, tar, turpentine, and rosin taken from pine trees were perhaps the most important products from the Bladen County area during its early history.   Mr. Shaw will also bring tools and artifacts and talk also about that industry.
