Spread the love

By Haylie Robinson

It’s that time again for the events happening in our home state of North Carolina. This month we have several events ranging from video game conventions to art shows; something about each might catch your eye. There are four events: Art in Bloom, Playthrough Gaming Convention, Skyfest, and finally, the Burlington Food Truck Rodeo. So let’s see what NC has to offer for March 2023.

Starting with the event Art In Bloom at North Carolina’s Museum of Art in West Raleigh. This event is the NCMA’s annual fundraising fair for art and flowers. This event has artists and designers arranging beautiful flowers to win a competition. All proceeds go to help the museum with programs and exhibitions. The healthy flowers are handed out to people with illnesses, terminal illnesses, poverty, and disabilities. The dates for this event are March 15th through 19th, and the tickets are 30 for museum members and 33 for non-members. This event is located at 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC.

The next event I have to show is the Playthrough Gaming Convention; for all of the gamers, you guys will love this. In Downtown Raleigh, Playthrough is a two-day convention that exhibits all the new games, including eSports, tabletop, and console games. This will also include vendors selling their creations, and it’ll also have tournaments and all different sorts. Tickets start at 30 dollars and can go up to 100$; the dates for this event are March 18th and 19th. This event is at the Raleigh Convention Center, 500 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh, NC.

Do you like skydiving? Well, that’s not the right question; here’s a better one. Do you enjoy watching other people skydive? At Skyfest in Burlington, NC, you can watch professionals do different aerial dives. There will be musical entertainment, displays, refreshments, and a children’s zone! It’s free to go to; it starts at 9 am and ends at 3 pm on March 25th. Where you can watch these professionals at Johnson Regional Airport, 3149 Swift Creek Rd. Smithfield NC.

And finally, we have the Burlington Food Truck Rodeo, hosted by Granddaddy’s Antique Mall. It’s for those who love to try different homemade foods and antique shopping because, during this event, you can shop around for other food truck foods and antique items and wares for around an entire acre of land. This event is also free to attend and is on March 26th at 2316 Maple Avenue, Burlington, NC; it starts at 12 pm and ends at 5 pm.
