RALEIGH – The following are highlights from this week at the N.C. Department of Transportation.

Black History Month

Here at the department, we are celebrating Black History Month by speaking with staff who contribute to our diverse transportation network.

We asked staff, including Deputy Director for the Office of Civil Rights Tonya Marriott, what Black History Month means to her.

“Black History Month is the contribution of African Americans to the United States history, that resonates with me personally. I am a person who loves to admire our unsung history, Marriott said.”

Every week in February a different member of our staff will be featured on our social media.

NC Quick Pass Website and System Update Begins February

NC Quick Pass is excited to launch a new website and system.

Beginning at 5 p.m. Feb. 17 through Feb. 24, ncquickpass.com and myncquickpass.com will be unavailable while the transition to the new system is made.

During this system update, customers will be able to travel as usual on North Carolina toll facilities.

With the new system, customers will only need to visit one website, ncquickpass.com, for all account management or Bill by Mail payments.

Customers can receive updates at ncquickpass.com, or on Twitter and Facebook during this transition period.

Take NC By Train to Stadium Series

Finally, Stormy, the Canes’ mascot, and NC By Train are encouraging fans to take the train to the Canes’ outdoor game against the Washington Capitals Saturday at Carter Finley Stadium.

And if you can’t make it this weekend, there’s plenty of hockey to be played in Raleigh this year. Book your train tickets at NC by Train dot org.
