One of the highlights of the past week was the special award for a special young lady….Abby Norris, an outstanding athlete and academic leader at East Bladen High school, was the recipient of the Spirit of Excellence Award by the US Army and Pro Football Hall of Fame. NFL Hall of Famer, Joe DeLamielleure, who was an offensive lineman for the Buffalo Bills in the 1970’s, made the presentation.
This promises to be another busy weekend in Bladen…..It begins today with a fish fry sponsored by the Elizabethtown Rescue Squad. Plates are $7 each. They will be available beginning at 10 this morning (Friday) at their headquarters at 201 Mercer Mill Road.
