Thoughts While Shaving

Thoughts While ShavingCongratulations….to our college graduates….Best of luck as you begin a new life…

Ana…what can I say?  Not a bad storm as storms go…caused some
frustrations, cancellations and postponements….Saw a map showing the
path of the storm…It appeared to have traveled near US 701 from
Whiteville, through Clarkton, to Elizabethtown and on into Sampson
County…

Rainfall totals range from about 1 to near 2 inches…for the most
part a drizzle…with occasional downpours.  A check late Sunday
indicated no power outages in the area at that time…

Thought about hurricane Hazel in 1954…Today, we know the exact
location, and the general direction…the likely forward movement and
the strength of the storm….Not so, in 1954….

I have, since I married many years ago, had the pleasure??? of grocery
shopping…a job designated to a few husbands…I am waiting patiently
in line, a serious rain storm on the horizon, and a shopper with
several buggies of groceries ahead…and then the coupons begin to be
produced from someplace…In the end, she paid about half of a grocery
bill in the hundreds of dollars with coupons…Then I was jealous…why
had I not clipped or copied from a computer…as she had done….Smart
lady…

And for golfers and those who enjoy watching the PGA…How about the
Players Championship tournament…Rickie Fowler posted his first major
win to hopefully silence his critics…Some were saying he was
“overrated” as a golfer…guess he “showed’ them.  A very good golf
tournament…

And now my spell check is not working….sorry…

“A synonym is a word you use when you can’t spell the other one.”
Baltasar Gracian

“One piece of wisdom a writer quickly learns–typos keep you humble”
E.A Bucchianeri

“My name is spelled “Spelled,” but it’s pronounced “Pronounced.”
