Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love
The latest edition of the White Lake Water Festival is over and from an ‘outsiders’ point of view…Thoughts While Shaving.another very successful effort…Congratulations to those who worked hard to make it happen….
I am proud of our weekend edition of BladenOnline….Lots of locally produced, articles and pics of many different events involving Bladen related activities…
Some we did not produce but are worthy of note…
Fayetteville Observer’s Sunday Salute of Ruby Campen is good reading.  For many who may not know, Ruby Campen was a Bladen County lady who lived a long time, productive life.  She grew up in the Wesley’s Chapel area….lots of relatives still  in the region…Many knew she was a clerical person at Fort Bragg…She was much more….Read the article under our Regional section or locate a Fayetteville Observer..A highly respected lady by those who knew her.. ..
A great weekend for a former Whiteville Wolfpack/East Carolina Pirate who  made a successful debut for the Baltimore Orioles yesterday (Sunday). 25 year old.Mike Wright was the winning pitcher against the Los Angeles Angels…Had some relief help late in the game…Baltimore 3-0 winner…What a way to hopefully begin a major league career….
Other items worthy of note was Drew Herring of Benson, a race car driver who has competed throughout the area, He was a ‘sub’ in Iowa qualifying.  He subbed for Erik Jones and placed the Joe Gibbs Infinity Toyota on the pole…He has an off and on NASCAR career….
And then there is Ray Jones, West Bladen athlete, who won the longest field goal competition at the Ray Guy ProKicker camp at Wingate University this weekend……Another original article on our sports page…Ray’s proud parents are  Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Jones…
Bladen County Commissioners meet at 6:30 p.m. today…
Worry is the dark room in which negatives are developed.
God always gives the best to those who leave the choice to him.
A hug is a great gift—one size fits all.
The good Lord didn’t create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.
