Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love
Thoughts While ShavingWe reached our first 90 degree temp of 2015 yesterday and could be a as high as 91 today…
Last night’s County Commissioners meeting provided a little extra suspense…guess that would be one way to describe.  Dr. Robert Taylor, Bladen County School Superintendent requested a transfer of funds from their capital improvement line item to current expense…and commissioners silence was “deafening.”  No action…Tension between the boards has “heighten” in recent months… Commissioners have stressed that the Board of Ed needs to live within their means(budget)…or in plain words…’You knew how much money was approved in the current budget, and you cannot keep returning for more.’  We shall see…
Saw a recent release by someone about the percentage of folks attending church on a regular basis.. The numbers continues to drop… The reasons are numerous, however, if you just ‘back off’ and observe, many times the situation is not a pretty sight.  Guess it has always been the same… Don’t know many area churches that have not experienced tension in the congregation at one time or another.
This is not a good time to be a County Commissioners or a staff person… Constant meetings and decisions involving revaluation, budget preparation for the coming year, jail issues and school issues…all in a county with limited financial resources…
Junior and Senior high students are encouraged to consider being a part of the Bladen Mission Project 2015.  See our article and registration form.  It is a non-denominational project that will involve young folks doing mission projects in the county.  Adults volunteers are needed.  Call 874-0601 for more details.
Remember the sick and needy… seems that list is growing as well.
The difference between earning a good living and living a good life, is enjoying what you do.
Speaking your mind isn’t the same thing as using it.
If you are living on the edge, make sure you are wearing your seat belt.
Life is a test and there have been times when I didn’t take good notes.
